Pride 2023: Explore NYC Pride Events
Pride month is just around the corner, when the world's LGBTQ+ communities and allies come together to celebrate how far we’ve come – and look forward to where we need to be. This year, more than ever, we acknowledge the urgency to both celebrate in honor of our accomplishments and to take further action. Here are just a few of our top picks for NYC Pride events taking place around the city in June.
2023 Pride Month Events
The Brunch | June 18 at 11:30am
Celebrate the culinary excellence of Black LGBTQIA+ chefs at The Brunch, an immersive dining experience to commemorate Juneteenth that includes food stations serving up tasty bites from a roster of Black chefs (lineup TBD), drinks (open bar if you have VIP tickets), storytelling, the opportunity to connect with local Black business owners, live entertainment, and an awards ceremony. Cheers to that!
Yankees Pride Night | June 21 at 7pm
Take us out to the ball game for a special game welcoming and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, along with their friends, families and allies. The Yanks will pay tribute to the community with a special on-field, pre-game ceremony (they’re playing the Mariners) and a portion of every ticket sold will benefit a number of NYC Pride initiatives. Plus, your game day ticket scores you an exclusive Yankees hat with a Progress Pride flag colored logo, a hot dog, and your first drink. Sports!
Teaze | June 24 at 2pm
Billed as sort of a party sample platter of “the most diverse party experiences New York City has to offer,” Teaze is an immersive, inclusive dance party that centers BIPOC members of the community and highlights local celebrations that champion safe spaces for all. This year’s Teaze will give guests the chance to get a taste of four influential local celebrations: The BTFA Collective (champions of Black trans femme artists); Funky Reggae House Party (a Brooklyn collective that celebrates Queer West Indian folx); Global Warming Inc. (a group of local DJs who host QTBIPOC-centered dance parties); and Snookie & Friends (a party collective helmed by venerated Brooklyn ballroom scenester Lawrence “Snookie” Taylor).
PrideFest | June 25 at 11am
Now in its – count ‘em – 29th year, PrideFest is a massive party in the streets of Greenwich Village. Revelers, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, community leaders, and local small business owners, come together for a day of fun including local vendors offering a diverse array of food and goods, live music and entertainment, dynamic exhibitions, and more. And entrance is completely free.
Pride March 2023 | June 25 at noon
It’s a parade, yes, but the annual March is so much more than that – it’s a demonstration. The first March took place in 1970, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Stonewall and has since evolved into a vibrant, colorful, at once jubilant and defiant demonstration of resilience and remembrance. You can catch the March – and cheer for the participants – for free along the streets, but if you’d like VIP optics, you can also purchase a seat in The View, a grandstand experience at 8th Street and 5th Avenue. Tickets include prime views, food, drinks, and a DJ.
Pride Island | June 25 at 2 pm
Christina Aguilera is set to cement her gay icon status alongside Britney and GaGa when she headlines this year’s Pride Island, the massive outdoor party that closes out Pride Month at Brooklyn Army Terminal. Dress to impress (or dress barely at all) and prepare to get down to beats by a lineup of DJs, along with party-starting light shows, food, and drinks – all capped off by the stylings of the genie in the bottle herself. Tickets start at $139.
