Kips Bay's Best Brunch Spots

No place does brunch like New York City. And after a long week, there’s no better feeling than digging into a hearty Eggs Benedict and chilling out with friends.

Need help sorting out your weekend plans? Here are a few of our favorite brunch spots in Kips Bay.

Street Taco

358 3rd Ave.

This casual taqueria features a fun twist on brunch. Order the brunch taco with chorizo, potato, scrambled eggs, and queso. Other notable menu items include shrimp benedict, huevos rancheros, and breakfast burrito. On Saturday and Sunday until 3pm, there is a two-hour “bottomless Loco” brunch ($25) with flavored mimosas: Raspberry Lemon, Blood Orange, and Grapefruit Elderflower.

Covina Restaurant

127 E 27th St.

This lovely hidden gem in Kips Bay is the perfect destination for a weekend brunch with friends or family. The new American restaurant with Mediterranean influences serves everything from salads, burgers, eggs, pizza to wagyu brisket. Need help choosing a dish? The Spicy Honey Pizza is the perfect blend of sweetness and spicy goodness. Other notable items include their Italian donuts with whipped ricotta and jam and signature Covina Croissant Sandwich (pictured below.)

HandCraft Kitchen & Cocktails

367 3rd Ave.

Every Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 4pm, they host a brunch special: $19.95 for one entrée and bottomless mimosa, Bellini and select drafts. Choose from over ten different brunch items from a breakfast burger with a sunny side up egg, brioche French toast, and lemon and ricotta pancakes with bourbon berry compote and whipped cream.

Ruby's NYC

442 3rd Ave.

Ruby’s is a popular brunch spot with lines out the door, but it is worth the wait. The cozy Australian cafe offers something for everyone (and even has gluten-free and vegetarian options.) Top picks on the menu include the Crispy Rice Bowl, Bronte Burger and the fries with truffle aioli. Wash it all down with one of their freshly-pressed juices and smoothies.

The Gem Saloon

375 3rd Ave.

Dig into the saloon steak-n-eggs, flapjack stack or three-egg salute omelet at The Gem Saloon. This casual restaurant serves brunch every Saturday and Sunday until 4pm with a complimentary mimosa, Bloody Mary, coffee, or juice with each item. Plus, the outdoor seating area is pet-friendly, so you can bring your pup along with you.
