Dog-Friendly Places to Eat + Drink

Forget about leaving Fido at home while you enjoy dinner or drinks around town. New York City is home to many unique dog-friendly restaurants, cafes, and breweries that allow dogs in portions or all of their establishments, as long as they're well behaved.

Enjoy brunch or happy hour with your "best friend" at these pet-friendly restaurants in NYC.

1. Shake Shack

Madison Square Park

New Yorkers go crazy for Shake Shack, and for good reason. While you indulge in that ShackBurger and concrete, treat your four-legged friend to dog-friendly menu items like the Pooch-ini and Bag O’Bones.

2. The Wilson NYC

132 W 27th St.

Pamper your pup at this upscale restaurant which just debuted a unique feature: a menu just for dogs. Order a 16-ounce grilled ribeye steak ($42), pan-roasted salmon ($28), or grilled chicken breast ($16) for your beloved pet, who can dine with you on the restaurant's outdoor, side patio.

3. Boris & Horton

195 Avenue A

Boris & Horton is New York’s first Department of Health approved dog-friendly café, and customers are welcome to bring their pups inside. In addition to serving great coffee, beer, wine and snacks, this East Village spot hosts dog meet-ups, trivia nights, adoption events and fundraisers.

4. d.b.a

41 1st Avenue

This East Village bar allows dogs both inside and outside on their back patio. The bar serves a curated selection of beer and whiskey for humans. Although d.b.a. does not serve food, you can bring in outside food or order delivery.

5. Dog & Bone

338 3rd Avenue

This chill, UK-inspired tavern in Kips Bay inspired by the owner's English Bulldog named Winston. Located on 25th and 3rd, dogs are welcome along the sidewalk cafe, which stretches along the adjacent plaza.

6. The Gem Saloon

375 3rd Avenue

The Gem Saloon has ample sidewalk seating where dogs are always welcome. Grab lunch, brunch, or happy hour drinks at this modern saloon on the corner of 27th Street and 3rd Avenue.
